Our Trustee Board have executive responsibility for ensuring the effective management and administration of the Group, in accordance with the Policy, Organisation and Rules of The Scout Association.
Volunteering in Scouting isn't just working directly with young people. There are many roles behind the scenes that help to support the Group and ensure that we can continue to provide a high-quality programme for our young people.
Our Trustee Board is the executive body responsible for the effective management and administration of the Group, in accordance with the Policy, Organisation and Rules of The Scout Association. The Board is made up of a number of Trustees, each of whom has a specific role to play in ensuring that the Group is run effectively and efficiently.
Trustees are either elected by the Group's members or co-opted by the Board itself. They are responsible for ensuring that the Group is run in accordance with the law, and that its finances are managed properly. They also have a duty to ensure that the Group's activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner, and that the welfare of its members is protected at all times.
The Trustee Board is headed by the Group Chair, and holds the Group Lead Volunteer to account for the effective management of the Group. The Board meets regularly to discuss matters relating to the Group's management and administration, and to make decisions on behalf of the Group's members.
