City Trips 2024

Our Cubs and Scouts are visiting Edinburgh and London respectively this September.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from parents and carers about our City Trips.

Our Edinburgh trip is running on 7 September 2024, while our London trip is running on 14 September 2024. The times for the trips differ slightly - click the respective trip's link for more information.
Our Edinburgh trip is only open to Cubs, while our London trip is only open to Scouts. This is due to the nature of the trips and the activities involved. Beavers are not able to attend either trip due to them both being long days with a lot of walking.
We are travelling via train and using the Tyne and Wear Metro. Meeting at West Jesmond Metro Station, we'll be taking the Metro to Newcastle Central Station, where we'll catch the train to Edinburgh or London. We'll be travelling on a group ticket for both the metro and National Rail services.
On each trip's page is a dedicated kit list.
Each trip has a slightly different price (due to the difference in costs involved). View the respective trip's page for more information.
Each trip requires a packed lunch, which should be brought with you. We will be stopping for dinner on the way back from each trip.
Scouts may wish to bring a small amount of money for souvenirs, but this is by no mean necessary. Cubs should not bring money.
