Holland 2025

Our first international trip to the Netherlands, open for Expressions of Interest.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from parents and carers about Holland.

Holland 2025 is our first international trip, travelling to the Netherlands for a week of adventure and fun. We will be staying in a dedicated youth hostel and following a full itinerary of activities and excursions.
No. For the trip to go ahead, we need to have enough interest from our members and volunteers. We are currently taking Expressions of Interest to gauge the level of interest. This is due to the cost of the trip being fixed, largely irrespective of the number of participants. As such, to make the trip economically possible, we need to have a minimum number of participants.
Members who are aged 9½-14 at the time of the trip are eligible to attend. Members who are slightly outside of this age range may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
We are not able to provide a final cost at this stage, however it is expected to be in the region of £800-850 per person. This will include all travel, accommodation, food and activities. We are currently taking Expressions of Interest to gauge the level of interest.
Yes and no. The trip is exclusively for the 17th Newcastle Scout Group, however, we are utilising a third-party trip organiser to oversee the logistics of the trip. This includes travel, accommodation, activities and excursions. The trip will be led by a combination of this third-party organiser and our own leaders.
Yes. The trip is ATOL protected, meaning that in the event of the trip being cancelled, you will be entitled to a full refund.
You can express interest by completing the form on the Holland 2025 page.
The trip is expected to run in early August 2025.
The trip is expected to last for 6 days (5 nights).
Yes! We will be meeting local Scouts in the area and learning about the Scouting movement in the Netherlands.
