Hawkhirst 2024

Travelling to the edge of Northumberland to visit a dedicated Scout Activity Centre for a weekend of fun!

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from parents and carers about Mission Adventure.

Hawkhirst is a Scout-owned activity centre in Hexham. Set in 70 acres of coniferous forest, it's a fantastic managed activity centre which is used by Scouts across the north of England.
This camp costs £48/person, which includes all food, activities and accommodation. We appreciate this cost is greater than what we would typically charge for a camp or sleepover - this is due to higher camping costs at the centre and the need to hire instructors for many of the activities scheduled.
We currently are asking parents to arrange their own transport to Hawkhirst. The campsite is approximately an hour away from Newcastle. If you are struggling to get there, please get in touch with us and we'll try to ensure your child is not excluded.
We are opening this camp to all Cubs and Scouts. Note that there is a limit on how many can attend based on activity size constraints.
There are 16 activities scheduled by Scout Adventures for this camp. Select "What's On" to view them.
The camp is scheduled for the weekend of 7th-9th June 2024.
